Biography

      I received my Bachelors of Art in Theatre/Dance from Henderson State University. While there my directing credits included: The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek, The Shadow Box, and Laundry & Bourbon. My choreography credits included: Much Ado About Nothing, Urinetown: The Musical, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.  Eventually, I picked up a few sound design credits with: The American Plan, Bus Stop, and The Shape of Things. During my time at Henderson, I danced with the Henderson State Dance Company as the principal male dancer for 3 of my 5 years. Since then, I have served as the choreographer for over 20 pieces; two of which appeared at the American College Dance Festival. 

 

      I earned my Masters of Fine Arts in Directing at the University of Arkansas where my directing credits included: The Little Dog Laughed, Tribes, Godspell, Medea Redux, and Kill/Shot. My choreography credits included: Godspell, Next to Normal, and Romeo and Juliet.  

 

     In 2017 served as the Director of Theatre and Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where I directed For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf; earning 2nd place at the National Association of Dramatic and Speech Arts One Act Play Competition and won Best Director.

   In 2018 I began serving as the Assistant Professor of Dance at Southern Arkansas University where my directing credits include: Hairspray, Next to Normal, Unexpected Tenderness, and Macbeth.

   When COVID-19 hit, I left SAU and moved back to Texas to be closer to family. I currently work as the resident choreographer for Theatre at The Colony in The Colony, TX. Choreography credits there include: The Spongebob Musical, The Little Shop of Horrors, and The Little Mermaid.

   When I'm not teaching, I can be found playing with my terrier mix, ShyLo.
